Singing at the Otford Village Fete, August 2021

Remember the Sixties? Our Spring Concert, at 7:30 pm on Saturday May 18th, will be looking back to 1964 when the choir was founded. In this, our Diamond Jubilee year, we will be enjoying many of the choir's favourites from six decades of 'fun and fine singing'. It's going to be a great evening (you'll probably be singing along!), so put the date in your diary now. Read about our history.

Tickets will be available nearer the time from our Box Office on 01959 523752.

£12, Concessions* £8

*Friends of Kemsing Singers and 5-18 year olds.

We are a friendly, mixed choir of about 50 singers celebrating our Diamond Jubilee in 2024. Our motto is "Fun and Fine Singing" and our aim is to sing well and enjoy doing so. We give public performances in the Kemsing and Sevenoaks area under our Musical Director, Sara Kemsley, with pianist Peter Young. We also sing occationally at fetes and festivals and for weddings or funerals. We have a very competitive subscription for members but still raise money for charity and use professional soloists each season. Read all about us and how you can join.
New members are always welcome.

"Three Kings from Persian lands afar...."
Robin and Paul led the choir in a fine rendition of this lovely traditional carol in our Celebration of Christmas on December 16th. An appreciative audience packed the hall for our first afternoon concert. We were joined by two wonderful musicians, Mary Mitchell-Gogay and Philip Day, in a programme largely chosen by the choir, with many favourites from six decades of Kemsing Singers Christmas concerts.

Kemsing Singers recently took part in OUPs 100th Anniversary celebration by learning and recording Bob Chilcott’s song called Rhythm.  Here is the link to our version

The choir's large repertoire includes major choral classics, but we are not a choral society. Our programmes are built to a theme and consist of several shorter items in a range of styles. Many of these pieces are on the lighter side of classical music or are contemporary arrangements of songs and carols with opera and musicals also represented. Singers and audiences alike enjoy the variety.
